Legislative Changes Prompt Price Transparency

July 1, 2019

Recently enacted legislature requires primary care practices to offer patients access to frequently used billing codes, the amount billed to patients, and also the allowed amounts from various insurers.  While this data can be useful to help patients take an active role in health care costs, it is important to note that the rates posted do not reflect an individual’s actual coverage.  Things like deductibles, HSA plans, secondary and supplement policies can all affect a patient’s liability.  The data provided by Cromwell Medical Clinic should not be considered a quote for services.  Please contact Clinic Administration if you have any questions about your billing, either prior to or after a service has been performed! Cromwell Medical Clinic’s Frequently Billed Services list can be found here.

How 10 High Achievers Do It – Clinics Share Their Quality-Improvement Strategies

August 2014 by Howard Bell

Since 2011, all Minnesota clinics and hospitals have had to submit their quality improvement (QI) numbers annually for a variety of measures to MN Community Measurement. In addition, some submit them to payers, who use them to determine reimbursements. And some even use the information to determine compensation. This emphasis on measurement has led organizations to take QI seriously. Many have changed the way they work – and that hasn’t always been easy. Here, 10 clinics share what they have learned about making changes for the better.

Cromwell Medical Clinic in Cromwell, Minnesota, has proved that size isn’t a barrier to excellence.
